The Semerah seat is among the 56 constituencies that will decide control of the Johor State Legislative Assembly in 2026. This guide covers the candidates and contest, with the official result to follow after July 11.

Pakatan Harapan's candidate in Semerah is Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar, standing for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) within the PH coalition chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. PH announced its full slate of 56 Johor candidates on June 22, 2026.

Pakatan Harapan is contesting all 56 Johor state seats, setting up multi-cornered races across the state against Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional and other contesters. Before the assembly was dissolved on June 1, 2026, Barisan Nasional held 40 of the 56 seats. A coalition needs a simple majority of at least 29 seats to form the Johor government, so every constituency — including Semerah — counts toward that total. The full list of candidates contesting Semerah is confirmed on Nomination Day, June 27, 2026.

Polling day is July 11, 2026, with early voting for eligible military and police personnel on July 7. Malaysia uses a first-past-the-post system, so the candidate with the most votes in Semerah wins the seat outright. Voters can confirm their polling centre for Semerah using the Election Commission's MySPR Semak tool before heading to the polls.

Result — to be updated after July 11, 2026. Counting begins once polls close on the evening of July 11. This page will be updated with the declared winner, the winning margin and the turnout for Semerah as soon as the returning officer announces the official outcome. Until then, no result has been declared.

As one of 56 seats deciding the next Johor government, Semerah matters. The official outcome will be updated here once the returning officer declares the result on July 11, 2026.
